The Ontario Export Awards—held November 24th at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont. saw 11 Ontario manufacturers win top honours for their growth in export markets. Including our own Cyclone Manufacturing.

New to the program in 2015 was the Global Reach Award, sponsored this year by Machines Italia and the Italian Trade Commission (ITC). The Global Reach award recognizes Ontario businesses who export far beyond the US to global customers.

The recipient of the award this year was Cyclone Manufacturing, a Mississauga, Ont.-based vertically-integrated provider of 3-5 axis machining, sheet metal fabrication, tube bending and minor sub-assemblies for some of the largest aerospace companies in the world.

“By investing in state-of-the-art technology at its industrial plants, this company has pulled ahead of competitors to establish a firm foothold among the world’s top manufacturers such as Boeing, Bombardier and Airbus,” said Pasquale Bova, Trade Commissioner for the Italian Trade Commission offices in Canada (Toronto and Montreal), as he presented the award to Cyclone. “It exports to the US, Taiwan, England and Austria.”

Andrew Sochaj, president of Cyclone Manufacturing, referred to his company’s rapid growth when accepting the Global Reach Award. Cyclone has added 200 employees in the past three years and continues to expand its manufacturing facilities.
