On May 13, 2022, Mayor of City of Mississauga, Bonnie Crombie hosted the President of the City of Rzeszów, Poland, Mr. Konrad Fijołek, Mrs. Magdalena Pszczółkowska, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto along with leaders from Polish Business Associations, including our President, Waldemar Halek. This visit also helped mark the first Polish Heritage Month in Ontario.
The City of Rzeszów has an existing relationship with Mississauga’s Economic Development Office and is home to a credible aerospace sector. Delegates from Rzeszow learnt more about Mississauga’s economic value proposition as well as explored potential collaboration to create economic development opportunities for business, investment and jobs.
The event was closed with a special raising of the Polish national flag at Celebration Square in honour of Polish Heritage Month.
